Root Reborn — basket reallocation
Auto-sell still feeds the root pool. Validator splits the pool by weight into per-subnet baskets that compound. Stakers manually claim, all converted TAO lands on root stake.

How to read the numbers
- Today: per payout cycle, the 5 subnets' root alpha (100 TAO in this example) is auto-sold and becomes new root TAO stake for the staker — landing automatically, roughly every couple of days. None returns to subnets. Net flow on subnet alpha: −100 TAO.
- Root Reborn: the same 100 TAO is still auto-sold (sell side unchanged), but the validator's weight vector redirects the proceeds: SN1 gets 50%, SN3 gets 30%, SN5 gets 20%. It comes back as buys on those three subnets. Net flow on subnet alpha: 0 TAO — the alpha stays in the subnet economy instead of leaving. And the staker's balance no longer rises on its own — they claim it, and it compounds until they do.
- Per-subnet outcome: SN1 and SN3 net-buy (more bought than sold). SN5 lands neutral (the 20 TAO buy exactly offsets its 20 TAO sell). SN2 and SN4 — unweighted — still net-sell at today's rate. The protocol has finally expressed a preference.
- For the staker: today your balance rises automatically in flat TAO. Now it rises only when you claim — and compounds as a basket of SN1 / SN3 / SN5 alpha exposure until you do, so waiting longer earns more. Claim to TAO any time; validator choice drives your return.
